Currant

Currants are small, round berries that may be black, red or white in colour. They have slightly sweet aroma and sweet-sour flavour. Organic European currants contain vitamins and minerals and are very tasty. Their slightly sour flavour adds freshness to dishes. Currants may be eaten fresh or processed into jam, marmalade, jelly, juice, wine or liqueur. They may be used as dumpling or pancake filling or in cakes.
