Honey from the European Union is a natural organic bee product. It is made from plant nectar and honeydew. Nectar is the thick juice produced in nectaries. The popular honey plants are linden, rapeseed, acacia, buckwheat, white clover and heather. Honeydew is plant juice processed by insects that feed on raw juice, from which they extract mainly protein and secrete sugar concentrates. It has the consistency of thick liquid that gets crystallised in time. The colour may be light or dark, depending on the original plant. Organic honey is rich in vitamins, mineral salt, organic acids and enzymes. It tastes excellent with tea and other beverages, desserts, cakes and other pastry.
